Product Page Checklist: 20 Things That Help You Sell

Your product page is where the decision gets made. People arrive from Google, Instagram or an ad, look for a few seconds, and either add to cart or leave. When we review stores, the product page is usually where the quickest wins are hiding.

Go through this list with your best-selling product open in another tab.

Above the fold

  1. A clear product title using the words customers search for.
  2. Price that's easy to see, with any discount shown honestly.
  3. A sharp main photo that loads quickly.
  4. Variant options (size, colour) that are easy to tap on a phone.
  5. A big, obvious Add to Cart button.
  6. Star rating and review count near the title, if you have reviews.

Photos and media

  1. Several angles, plus close-ups of texture and detail.
  2. At least one photo showing scale, worn or in use.
  3. A short video if the product moves, drapes or needs demonstrating.
  4. Descriptive alt text on every image. See our image guide.

Information that removes doubt

  1. A description written for your customer, not copied from a supplier. Here's how to write one.
  2. Key specs: material, dimensions, weight, ingredients, what's in the box.
  3. A size guide for anything worn.
  4. Care instructions.
  5. Delivery time, ideally estimated by pin code.
  6. Returns in one line, linking to the full policy.

Trust and persuasion

  1. Real reviews, including photos from customers if possible.
  2. Payment options shown clearly, including UPI and COD if offered.
  3. A way to ask a question, such as a WhatsApp button.

SEO basics

  1. A unique meta title and description, and the product linked from its collection and relevant blog posts.

Common problems we see

  • Delivery and return information buried at the bottom
  • Variant pickers that are fiddly on mobile
  • One photo only, or photos of different sizes
  • Descriptions of one line
  • Pages so slow the Add to Cart button appears late

Test it like a customer

Open the page on your phone, on mobile data. Pretend you've never heard of your brand. Can you find the price, understand the product, know when it'll arrive and buy it in under a minute? If anything makes you hesitate, that's what to fix first.

We look at product pages closely in every build. See our Shopify packages or send us a product link for feedback.
