SEO for Jewellery Brands: How to Rank and Sell More Online

Ornate brass door in Jaipur, home to many jewellery brands

Jaipur is one of India's great jewellery cities, and we work with a lot of jewellery brands. Selling jewellery online has its own challenges. It's often a considered purchase, trust matters enormously, and shoppers want to know exactly what they're getting. The good news is that the things that help SEO are largely the same things that help people buy.

Structure collections the way people shop

Jewellery shoppers search by type, material, style and occasion. Build collections around those: earrings, necklaces, rings, bangles; silver, gold-plated, kundan, polki, oxidised; bridal, everyday, festive; gifts for her, gifts under a price. Each important collection should target a clear search phrase and have helpful introductory copy. Our collection SEO guide shows how.

Give product pages every detail

Metal and purity, plating, stones, weight, dimensions, closure type, care instructions and certification where relevant. Customers can't hold the piece, so the page needs to answer everything. Write unique descriptions for each design rather than copying the same text across similar pieces. See product descriptions that rank.

Invest in photography

Close-ups showing detail and finish, photos on a model for scale, and consistent backgrounds. Jewellery photography is tricky because of reflections, so it's often worth a professional shoot for key pieces. Add descriptive alt text to every image; Google Images is a real source of traffic for jewellery.

Build trust visibly

Certifications and hallmarking where applicable, clear return and exchange policies, secure payment, reviews with customer photos, your workshop story and a visible contact number. For higher-value pieces, WhatsApp support before purchase makes a big difference.

Write content that answers jewellery questions

Some ideas that tend to work well:

  • How to clean oxidised or silver jewellery at home
  • Kundan vs polki: what's the difference?
  • How to choose earrings for your face shape
  • Jewellery to pair with a lehenga, saree or kurta
  • Festive and wedding season gifting guides (publish well ahead of the season)
  • How to check if silver is real

Link each post to the relevant collection.

Don't neglect local search

If you have a showroom, a complete Google Business Profile with photos and reviews helps people nearby find you, and many will research online before visiting. See our local SEO guide.

Keep the store fast

Jewellery stores tend to use large, high-resolution images. Compress them, and keep apps to a minimum.

We've built and grown several jewellery stores; you can see some on our portfolio. If you'd like help with yours, our Monthly SEO package is a good place to start. Let's talk.
